The Site

The site is located in Wantage and is currently home to St Katharine’s House, an 84 bed care home that provides residential, nursing, dementia and respite care. The surrounding area is mainly made up of two and three storey homes with front gardens and green spaces, with mature trees and established landscaping helping to define the site.

While the care home continues to operate, the existing building no longer meets modern care standards or best practice guidance. Its layout and condition limit its ability to adapt to the changing needs of residents. Redevelopment of the site will help ensure high quality care can continue to be provided in a modern environment that is better suited to future care needs.
